Bish disappeared in June 2000 from the local swimming hole where she had just started a summer job as a lifeguard in her hometown of Warren, Mass. In May 2003, Tim McGuigan, a former police officer, helped to discover evidence that lead to the discovery of Molly's body. His interest in the case traced back to the 1993 abduction of another local girl, Holly Piirainen, who was 10 years old when she was taken from a country road in Sturbridge, Mass., roughly 10 miles from the pond where Molly disappeared. Holly's body was found several weeks after her abduction, but no arrests were ever made. McGuigan became obsessed with the Piirainen murder case and increasingly began to focus on the similarities between that case and the Bish disappearance. He has come out of retirement to be the technical advisor on a special government program preparing a new, stronger breed of soldier that is more sophisticated, intelligent and agile. All goes well with the program until the soldiers' supercomputer SETH, Michael Jai White, develops a mind all its own, and sets in motion a plan that includes killing Deveraux and kidnapping his daughter. With the aide of Erin, (Heidi Schanz), a tough reporter in search of her big story and his partner Maggie, (Kiana Tom), Deveraux once again is forced to combat the most lethal army ever developed as he races against the clock to save his daughter and keep his family together. Trivia: when SETH cracks his kill-code, it flashes up on the screen, starting with "NCC1701", which is the registration code of the star ship Enterprise; in the scene where Bill Goldberg's character Romeo tears his shirt off and starts to fight with the security guards, he uses a couple of his signature wrestling moves, the spear and spine-buster. |
