Axe for Forrest
QUEENSLAND batsman Peter Forrest has been given out.
Not by an umpire - by the national selectors.
Forrest, 26, who scored a century against Sri Lanka last summer during his debut one-day international series and toured the West Indies, has been dropped from the 15-man one-day squad to tour England next month.
He does have the consolation of heading to England with the Australia A squad in July though for a two four-day games against the England Lions in August.
While Forrest heads through the exit door, Mitchell Johnson, Patrick Cummins and Steve Smith have all been recalled.
"We will have to be at the top of our game to go to England and beat them on their home soil but we've selected a strong squad and believe we have the ability to win this one-day series," national selector John Inverarity said.
Australia will play England in five one-dayers, the first on June 29.
Squad: Michael Clarke (c), Shane Watson (vc), George Bailey, Patrick Cummins, Xavier Doherty, Ben Hilfenhaus, Michael Hussey, David Hussey, Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Clint McKay, James Pattinson, Steve Smith, Matthew Wade, David Warner.
