Bundy is nuts for Locky's rum
BUNDABERG rugby league fans have been showing their love for the sport and the local drop as dozens turn out to buy the limited edition Darren Lockyer six-year-old rum.
The rum, which was created in the football great's honour, went on sale at the Bundaberg Rum Bondstore and BWS stores yesterday after a launch in Brisbane on Saturday.
Just 37,200 bottles of the rum are for sale in Queensland and feature a sketch of Lockyer surrounded by his career highlights.
The rum has been crafted to signify his service to the number six jersey.
"We put a lot of thought into the design of the bottle, and I'm really happy with the final outcome and pleased to be able to offer fans something unique and special," Lockyer said.
Bundaberg Rum marketing manager Andy Oughton said the rum was the company's way of saying thanks to "Locky" for his career.
"The Bundaberg Distillers have ingeniously blended a fine rum with a great strength of character and richness balanced with a unique smoothness - characteristics that Darren is so well known for," he said.
