Cyndi Palmer has made an emotional plea to the public not to speculate on her daughter's murder case for fear of jeopardising it.

Tiahleigh Palmer's foster father Richard Neville Thorburn was charged with the 12-year-old's murder on Tuesday.

His 19-year-old son Trent Thorburn was charged with incest, perverting the course of justice and perjury.

Julene Thorburn and the couple's 20-year-old son Josh Thorburn were also charged with perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Speaking to the media today Ms Palmer thanked the Queensland Police and the public for their efforts in working on the case and providing any information.

"My other three children will grow up without their sister, and she will forever be an angel," she said.

"I miss my daughter terribly every day. And a piece of my heart is missing."

Police are currently excavating the Thorburn home at Chambers Flat.

Detective Inspector Damien Hansen said exhibits had been taken, and police were expected to remain at the property for the next several days.

"We are treating this address as the primary crime scene and looking for any evident in relation to Tia's murder," he said.

"This is the only address we are looking at, at this stage."

Detective Inspector Hansen said there was evidence of property being burnt at the address, but said it was not unusual for rural areas.

He said the investigation into the car was still ongoing.

Richard Thorburn has been transferred from the PA Hospital to Wacol Prison, however Detective Inspector Hansen said he was not speaking with police.
