POLICE say a truck driver was lucky not to be seriously injured when his vehicle crashed into a house.

Warwick police acting officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Shane Reid said the solid body truck crashed into the home after a collision with a B-double at the intersection of Wood and Wallace Sts about 7.30am on Wednesday.

Act Snr Sgt Reid said the body truck, which was transporting an excavator, was travelling north on Wallace St when it went to turn left into Wood St.

It then collided with the westbound B-double.

CCTV footage from traffic cameras at the intersection will be reviewed to help determine which driver was at fault. Police believe one of the drivers went through a red light.

"The vehicles have collided resulting in the body truck and excavator mounting the footpath and colliding with a house," Act Snr Sgt Reid said.

He said there was substantial damage to the body truck and structural damage to the home.

"The driver of the body truck was pretty lucky not to have more serious injuries," he said.

The noise from the crash woke surrounding neighbours.

No one was injured in the crash.
