Weather conditions in Sydney on Sunday are tipped to be dry and sunny, in contrast to tomorrow's AFL grand final in soggy Melbourne, predicted by The Weather Channel to be "exceptionally" cold, wet and windy.
"The weather across Melbourne is part of what we call a cold outbreak - cold, westerly winds following in the wake of a cold front that will sweep through on Friday," Dick Whitaker, chief meteorologist at The Weather Channel, said.
"For the Sydney grand final, fine and sunny weather is expected, but similar to Melbourne, Sydney will also bear the brunt of a temperature drop. Friday's summer-like 29˚C will be replaced on Sunday by a much cooler 20˚C."
