Gatton teen airlifted to Brisbane after crash

A 19-year-old Gatton man is in Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening head injuries after he was struck by a four-wheel-drive early on Wednesday morning.

After initial assessment at Gatton Hospital, the man was flown by helicopter to Brisbane for further treatment.

Police report the man was laying on the road in Hill Street, Gatton, when the four-wheel-drive ran over him at about 2.30am Wednesday morning.

The driver of the four-wheel-drive, a 47-year-old Gatton man, was not injured in the incident.

The accident site is just metres from the rear entrance to the Gatton Hospital.

Investigations into the accident are continuing, with local officers joined by the Forensic Crash Unit and Scenes of Crime staff.

Any witnesses to the incident are urged to contact Gatton Police on 5468 3266.
