HAYDEN Lee is only four, and for the last 12 months he has been living in Brisbane so he can get treatment for his Leukaemia.

He's from Mackay and a son to Tony Lee, a police officer. Hayden moved with his family 12 months ago after the diagnosis, but hasn't been forgotten by the place he calls home.

Last week an emergency services touch football charity fund raiser collected $1880 to help with the family's costs, and yesterday the Mackay Touch Football Association donated $500 of its own.

The president of the touch football association Jason Miller said he was happy to contribute as he thought it was a good cause.

"The Mackay community just needs good people right now," he said.

Organiser of the touch football fund raiser, Senior Sergeant Dave Parnell, said helping Tony just made sense.

"He's raised thousands in the past running the charity golf day in Sarina," he said.

"He's always willing to lend a hand, but would never ask for anything himself. This is why it's important we support him."
