Man trapped in Highway Crash

A 44-year-old Stanthorpe man was lucky escape injury yesterday afternoon, after his vehicle crashed on the Warrego Highway at Plainland.

Laidley Police Senior Sergeant Jim McDonald said witnesses saw the white Nissan flat bed truck run off the side of the road, colliding with trees and bushes.

"The driver was trapped as each door was unable to be opened from the damage," he said.

"The man sustained injuries that were not life threatening.

"He as on the Warrego Highway on the westbound lanes and ended up in the centre of the highway.

"The driver lost control of the steering and the vehicle has been taken for inspection."

Snr Sgt McDonald said it took about 40 minutes to release the man from his vehicle.
