Men flee as drugs, firearm in car crash

POLICE discovered amphetamines and a shortened firearm in a crashed car at Blue Mountain Heights.

A blue Ford sedan was reportedly driving erratically before it rolled on the Murphys Creek Rd at 9.50pm on Monday.

Witnesses heard the driver and passenger saying they had to get out of the area before police arrived.

The men fled but were tracked to a property by the Toowoomba Police dog squad.

A 30-year-old man was charged with 10 offences including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing a shortened firearm.

The man appeared in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court yesterday. He was remanded in custody and the case was adjourned to November 13.
