Markets a hit with bears and kids
THERE were some big surprises for the children at the Mulgowie Markets as the Teddy Bears Picnic proved a big hit.
Undoubtedly the hit on the day was Edward the Bear, who regaled children with stories and presented a toy bear and gift pack to all the little ones who had registered for the event.
Mulgowie Hall Committee communications co-ordinator Judith Jefferys said she was happy with the atmosphere only a country market can provide.
People from around the district set up about 30 stalls, with Lockyer Valley produce and craftwork proving popular with the crowds.
"The Teddy Bears Picnic went over really well and all up it was a successful day," Mrs Jefferys said.
Organisers of the markets were happy with attendances for the day, with the Mulgowie Hall Committee set to benefit from money raised.
