Rodeo Queen a hit in the U.S.

REPRESENTING Australia and Warwick Rodeo in Wyoming, USA, has been a lot easier than expected for Danika Boland, "because they all love her".

Warwick Rodeo Queen Quest co-ordinator Kate Christensen said the young Australian was being asked for more autographs and photos than Miss Rodeo America Paige Nicholson.

"It seems the Warwick Rodeo Queen is more popular than their own queens," she said. "Australians must be 'flavour of the month' over here. The line-up to have a photo taken with Warwick Rodeo Queen is amazing."

Miss Boland who won the Rodeo Queen title at Warwick Rodeo 2013, has been in Wyoming since July 4 when she attended the Cody Stampede, America's richest rodeo, then headed to Sheridan and Laramie Jubilee Days rodeos, before arriving at "The Daddy of 'em all", Cheyenne Frontier Days.

"Our involvement has included autograph signing, interacting with sponsors and special guests, taking part in flybys (like a grand entry), behind the chutes tour, introduction on stage before the Florida Georgia Line, Brad Paisley and Kid Rock concerts and riding through the streets of Cheyenne in the grand street parade," Mrs Christensen said.

"We also attended the pancake breakfast which serves around 8000 people for breakfast every day. So many people and so many pancakes!

"Danika has also had the honour of signing autographs beside Miss Rodeo America and competitors from each day's rodeo.

"We've already learnt a great deal about how one of the biggest rodeos in the world is run and having plenty of 'behind the scenes' interaction with the various committees.

"We are also planning to maintain a long-term relationship with Cheyenne. We are hoping their Miss Frontier and her lady-in-waiting can join us for Warwick Rodeo this year and then returning with our new Queen in 2015 and for many years to come."

Mrs Christensen and Miss Boland will return to Australia at the end of this week.
