A 50 CENT bet started a love story spanning 30 years and culminated in Sunshine Coast artist Kendall Perkins remarrying her first husband Andrew Stumer on Sunday.

The couple first married on September 21, 1985, but separated six years later.

Two years ago, their romance reignited when they realised their love for each other was too strong to deny.

Maleny Manor provided a romantic backdrop for the emotional wedding ceremony at which Andrew and Kendall spoke of their love for each other.

It was deja vu for the couple and those who attended their first wedding 27 years ago.

"I loved you once, I love you still, I always have, I always will," they said to each other.

Andrew and Kendall first met at the Burke and Wills hotel at Toowoomba.

"I was 16 and at a hotel I shouldn't have been at, and going to a concert I shouldn't have been going to," Kendall told wedding guests.

"I saw this man in the corner of the room and thought, 'There's the man I'll marry'.

"I went up to him and said, 'I bet you 50 cents I can kiss you without touching you'.

"I lost and handed over the coin.

"We became sweethearts, then husband and wife and now we are retying the knot."

Kendall said other than her daughters, Andrew was the greatest love of her life.

"I lost what I had and I understand now that you only ever truly love one person in your life. It's not often you get a second chance like the one we have," she said.

"We have three beautiful children between us, who were meant to be. We wouldn't change a thing."

Andrew said Kendall had been "his little girl" for the past 30 years.

"They say money can't buy you happiness but 50 cents bought me the love of my life," he said.

Kendall wore a smoky pink cobweb silk gown, adorned with seed beads and mother-of-pearl sequins and featuring an ornate diamante collar.

The dress was made by Coast designer Suzanne Russell.

Kendall is well known for her generous support of charities.

The couple asked wedding guests not to bring a gift, rather place a cash donation in an envelope so the funds could be divided between the two charities close to their hearts.

They donated the gifts to the Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Foundation and The Daniel Morcombe Foundation.
