A TOOWOOMBA lawyer has obtained the divorce document filed by celebrity actor Angelina Jolie against Brad Pitt.

Thomas Rowan took to Twitter saying: "Here you go, you savages. I managed to dig up a copy of Angelina Jolie Pitt's petition for divorce..."

The document, filed with the Superior Court of California reveals some interesting things about the power couple, according to Mr Rowan.

The lack of financial information is revealing, he said.

"It looks like the financial positions of the parties are yet to be determined, which is fascinating.

"There's nothing to suggest there has been a prenuptial agreement between them.

"It will be a huge bun fight between them about which assets each party has."

He deals with commercial dispute resolutions in his work with Hallewell Law and is not an expert in divorce law, but said it was big business in Toowoomba.

Mr Rowan said in Queensland divorce papers often included supporting material, but said this document was very bare, describing it as a "tick and flick" document.

"Legally there is a lot of interest in this case, particularly with Toowoomba lawyers who specialise in family law," he said.

"You only need to do a Google search to realise we have heaps of them here.

"Family law touches on everyone."
