THE search is on for a new Miss Country Girl Australia who wants to transform herself from a country town girl to a superstar.

A national search has been launched to find people who want to enter the entertainment industry.

The event aims to connect with a regional audience by giving young local talent an opportunity to pursue their dreams.

Each event is an entertaining opportunity for the community to congregate and support their local youth.

Through regional events, national finalists are selected and welcomed to join the annual national final event.

The event has been set up to allow contestants the opportunity to discuss their futures with leading industry professionals

Belinda Adams of Nanneella, Victoria was crowned Miss Country Girl Australia 2011, and as a result was signed with one of Australia's top modelling agencies.

Miss Country Girl Australia's national roadshow will give every country girl the opportunity to be discovered.

Eight to 12-year-olds will compete to be crowned the Miss Country Girl Junior champion for their region and win many wonderful prizes.

Girls from 13 to 28-years-old will compete to be named Miss Country Girl Australia winner for their region and be invited to participate at the national final where they will compete to be crowned Miss Country Girl Australia 2012 and win many amazing prizes and opportunities.

The competition was established in 2009 by Katie Jones from North West NSW whose vision was to provide a platform for country girls to connect with industry professionals and to give them further opportunities.

Each year many girls register online and participate in the regional workshops and preliminary finals.

"I know what it's like growing up as a country girl and the struggles you may face when trying to enter the modelling or entertainment industry so I decided to reach out and help by taking the competition to them," Ms Jones said.

"We see young girls participating in the competition to build their confidence through the catwalk and deportment classes along with interacting with other contestants, making friends, and opening their minds to new and exciting opportunities, this is a fun and friendly competition with no experience needed."

The flurry of fresh young faces will be modelling down the catwalk at Rose City Shoppingworld in Warwick and competing for a range of prizes and awards.

Event dates are:
Heat 1 - Friday, October 5 at 11am
Heat 2 - Friday, October 5 at 1pm
Final - Saturday, October 6 at 11am.

Contestants can enter online at www.misscountrygirlaustralia.com.au.
