Warwick truck in fatal crash

BREAKING: A truck involved in a fatal accident in Toowoomba this afternoon is understood to belong to Warwick-based Wickham Freightlines.

It is believed the driver of a van which collided with the truck has been confirmed deceased, with police currently on the scene just north of Hodgson Vale.

Police Media could not confirm where the truck is based and a spokesman for Wickham Freightlines declined to comment while emergency services were still on the scene.

Information about the collision was received by triple zero operators at around 2.35pm.

The highway is closed in both directions.

Police will advise motorists of diversions as soon as possible but are predicting lengthy delays.
