The NiE Newsletter will provide you with another forum to find out more about how the NiE program can be of benefit. It will contain ideas on ways to use the news in the classroom and link you to other useful platforms. The newsletter will also bring you stories on how other schools are using newspapers in their learning.
Newspapers in Education consists of educational pages published weekly through-out the school year in APN’s Daily papers. The NiE pages and online resources target the middle school and is a platform that helps launch students into research and investigation.
NiE hopes to initiate discussion on important current affairs and curriculum linked topics that challenge students. Newspapers in Education is about expanding awareness through reading the local newspaper and connecting online to become more informed. It offers our youth with the opportunity to create a better understanding of the world by challenging their thoughts and opinions, extending their literacy capabilities and providing them with life skills. The content of the NiE pages is designed to encourage students and readers to investigate and research additional information through multi-media channels of its online page.
