I'LL have a cup of coffee, a piece of cake, some wool and knitting needles thank you these are the words Lynn Bryson has come to commonly hear in the lead up to the Jumpers and Jazz in July festival.
The owner of Bryson's Place decided to offer visitors something extra to do, getting people to knit wool squares while enjoying their daily time out.
"We decided to tie it in with the festival letting people knit squares to be put together for rugs," she said.
"Then we are going to give the rugs to Akooramak, The Oaks and Blue Care."
Mrs Bryson said she was overwhelmed by the response from customers.
"People have made hundreds of squares, we have bags full," she said.
"People have even been taking their knitting home and bringing squares in for us."
Mrs Bryson said they now needed help to sew all the patches together.
"We would really appreciate anyone who could help us put the rugs together," she said.
"You don't need to be an expert knitter and someone here can show you how."
