WITH the 2009 Warwick Rodeo Queen Quest all done and dusted, it is now time for the winners to get down to business and their regal duties.
2009 Warwick Rodeo Queen Jessica Leech said she was looking forward to a hectic itinerary, which will start from Monday.
“I am looking forward to meeting everyone, meeting new people and doing the best I can do in this role - I can't wait for Monday,” Miss Leech said.
Thankfully the young real estate agent in-the-making has a helpful employer willing to give her time off for the busy queen schedule, which will involve travelling to nursing homes, schools and of course the rodeo itself.
Some of the commitments include dropping into Akooramak, The Oaks and the Blue Care Respite on Monday, visiting a number of primary schools Tuesday and Wednesday and attending a talent quest and fashion parade on Wednesday night.
The queen winners will also attend a sponsors' dinner at the Douglas Feez Pavilion on Thursday night - where they will mingle with guests and assist with serving drinks.
All of the competitors in the campdraft events, which all have record numbers, will start arriving today and tomorrow, before the 3500 head of cattle arrive Monday morning.
Competition will start midday Monday.
Watch out for full coverage of the start of the campdraft in Monday's Daily News.
