THE sky over the Southern Downs and Granite Belt will be various shades of grey for most of the week with thunderstorms and isolated showers predicted.
“There’ll be early thundery rain today with Warwick predicted to get about 5mm to 10mm, but you could get a bit more if under the storm, and more is predicted closer to the border,” Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Michelle Berry said.
Temperatures will be a couple of degrees cooler as a result of cloud cover.
“Tuesday will hang around the 24 to 25 degree mark – the November average is 27 (degrees) – with isolated showers still about,” Ms Berry said.
The mercury is set to rise again on Wednesday and Thursday before the thunder and rain returns.
“Easterly winds will ease so there’ll be an increase in temperature from Wednesday with 28 degrees and fine conditions,” she said.
“Thursday’s predicted to be 30 degrees and fine but Friday will return to unstable conditions with possible thunderstorms and showers.”

WITH storms and flooding causing losses of over 400 million dollars a year, it will pay to be prepared for storms this season. Early preparation may be the key.
