Even Santa won’t be able to water his Warwick rental house on Christmas Day.
SANTA will find his visit to Warwick hotter than usual this year, and not because of global warming.
Due to water restrictions across the Southern Downs, there will be no running through sprinklers or hose and bucket fights on Christmas Day.
Under regular water restrictions residents are allowed usage of water outdoors on three allocated days any time except between 10am and 4pm.
However, in a stroke of extremely bad luck for residents, Christmas falls on a Friday, the only day no one is allowed to use water outdoors.
Santa, sitting in his kitchen in the North Pole, shook his head at the misfortune of Warwick kids missing out on such traditional Aussie Christmas water games.
“The children will be so disappointed. They’ll have their new plastic swimming pools and sprinklers and they won’t be able to use them,” Santa said.
A council spokeswoman said that water restrictions will not be wavered, even for one day, even for Christmas Day.
Santa said that his reindeers would find the trek to Warwick this year very trying if Rudolph and the gang were not allowed to cool off by chasing each other through the sprinklers when Santa is busy inside dropping off his presents.
Santa was very disappointed at the Grinch-like attitude of the council and promised to have a word to the Warwick mayor.
“Come on council,” Santa said.” Relent for one day.”
