Colts fight for semi-finals spot

THE Colts require a win against Inglewood at Queens Park Turf this Sunday and Maryvale-Condamine to go down to Wheatvale in order to make the semi-finals.

THE Warwick Hotel Colts side requires a win against Inglewood at Queens Park Turf this Sunday and Maryvale-Condamine to go down to Wheatvale at Slade Park in order to grab the last semi-final spot.

A win by the Maryvale side will guarantee them a re-match against Wheatvale a week later in the minor semi-final.

Colts batsman Alex Costello showed he was in good touch with the bat last game and could add a valuable partnership with Donald Miller.

The Inglewood bowling attack of Brendon Knight and Wayne and Neil Fearby are expected to be the difference in the game.

Maryvale batsman Mitchell Siebenhausen should score some valuable runs after posting a century in Toowoomba club cricket earlier in the season.

For the Wheatvale side, Nathan Bell will be after wickets later in the innings.

RSL Diggers will be keen for a win against Allora to ensure they are playing in the major semi-final a week later and have a double chance in the finals.

Diggers batsman Jeff Morris and Jamie Saunders should add enough runs at the top of the order to allow Chris McEvoy to play his shots later in the innings.

Allora’s best chance of a win will come down to how many runs Adam May can score.

In reserve grade Carey’s Meateors batsman Coen Slatter and Kris McLennan will be aiming to set their side up with a good score against Criterion CSD at Mayhew Oval.

The Criterion side will require Jeremy Jerome and James Richards to occupy the crease for a few overs.

In the other reserve grade game Killarney batsman Matthew Keirnan and Luke Grayson should hold the middle order together if early wickets fall against the Sovereign Animals side.
