TWENTY-one of the best junior players from our region and four of the top coaches will be Warwick and District Tennis Association courts today participating in a Tennis Queensland junior regional development camp.
The camp is being conducted by Tennis Queensland regional development coach Matthew Richards, community tennis officer Richard Toye and Tennis Australia coach development co-ordinator Rob Leeds.
Leeds said the camp was to meet up with the best tennis players aged between 10 and 14 from the region, which stretches as far as Roma, and identify them for future development.
Toye said the camps were usually held twice a year and were invitation only, for players which generally are nationally or state-ranked.
Two players from Warwick – Jemima Fraser and Harry Benham – are participating in the course, which kicked off yesterday.
A coaching camp was also held, which Warwick and District Tennis Association professional/centre manager Chris Hoffman participated in.
