FROM a congregation of 10 gathering in a basement, to almost 100 regulars spilling out of their place of worship, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is now expanding to keep up with its demand.

Work on the church extension started this week and will include a brand new worship hall which can cater for up to 144 people.

Church president Lehi Clark stood proudly on the porch of the Guy Street premises, showing the Daily News the plans for the new building, which is scheduled to be finished in a couple of months.

He credits the growing congregation to the growth of Warwick and said the expansion would help cater for their numbers.

“It will be good just to have everyone in one space.

“The other week we had 129 people here and we couldn’t fit them all in the one room.”
