Children who are now in Years 4 and 5 will be eligible to enrol at the Highfields State High School which will open its doors to an estimated 150 Year 7 students and 80 Year 8 students in 2015. There's a chance the school will also offer Year 9 places in 2015, so if you'd like your child to be eligible for this Year 9 intake, please come along to the meeting to indicate to Education Queensland that you would support this move. The meeting is open to everyone, and is likely to look at establishing working parties in specific areas such as: Vehicle and pedestrian access Facilites Vocational/tertiay links School identity including uniform, colours, houses and motto Interested parents and carers of children currently attending Highfields, Geham, Goombungee, Crows Nest, Haden and Gowrie state schools and Mary MacKillop Catholic School are expected to be in attendance. Parents and carers of children who are school in Toowoomba but live in Highfields and surrounding districts are also expected to attend. The meeting was announced on June 13 by Minister for Education John-Paul Langbroek. Education Queensland's regional office in Toowoomba is expected to release more details about the meeting in coming weeks.
