10 reasons to head to South Bank this summer

NO MATTER what you're into, South Bank has a ridiculous amount of fun things to do and this summer is no exception.

To get you started, we've pulled together just 10 of the many things to do at Brisbane's South Bank for you and the whole family.

1.       Explore Fish Lane: This is the new (ish) up-and-coming dining precinct that stretches from South Bank to West End and if food and drinks are your thing, then this is where you need to be. Check out the funky bars and restaurants from brekky to the wee hours of the next morning.

2.       Jump on The Wheel of Brisbane: Get a magnificent 36- degree view of the city on board the giant wheel. Head up at sunset for the most magical and romantic experience.

3.       Check out the world's largest experiment - the Hadron Collider: science nerds, ahoy! The Hadron Collider Exhibition from the London Science Museum is a re-creation of the world's largest and most powerful particle accelerator, and it's on our shores in Brisbane.

4.       Go on a Peppa Pig playdate: If your little ones are into Peppa Pig, this will be their wonderland. Tickets are now on sale for the super-sized interactive experience where you can visit Peppa's house, sail on the pond and have a playdate with Peppa!

5.       Celebrate GOMA's 10th birthday: If art, creativity and innovation is your thing, the Gallery of Modern Art is where it's at. To celebrate its 10th birthday, you can check out the headline exhibition, Sugar Spin which explores light, space and senses.

6.       Head to the beach: Streets Beach is Australia's only inner-city beach and it's the perfect way to spend your summer days.

7.       Sunday session: Once you're feeling sun-swept and ready for some food and drinks, head to one of the lively bars and restaurants just by the beach for a few brews and some live music.

8.       Take the best selfies of your life: South Bank has some incredible vantage points and every one of them makes a great backdrop to a selfie and to practice night photography… fill your Instagram page with the beauty that is Brisbane.
