Have fun at West fete

WARWICK West State School will put on a show spectacular today, as part of its annual fete. Dozens of rides, stalls, show bags, a chocolate wheel, fairy floss, a cake and coffee stall will keep visitors entertained.

West school choirs and bands, as well as the Warwick State High School band, Killarney School of Dance and some belly dancers will be performing and there will be a talent show and lip-syncing competition.

When: Today, from 2.30pm.

See pilots in flight

MEMBERS of the Queensland Recreational Aircraft Association will show off their long-winged machines tomorrow as part of Wings Over Warwick.

Warwick is a major hub for recreational aircraft, being home to the state-wide association, which has more than 80 members.

As well as planes between the value of $50,000 - $175,000, there will also be a range of unique cars when the Custom Car Club rolls in.

When: Tomorrow from 9am.

Where: Warwick Massie Aerodrome, Warwick-Allora Rd.

Cost: Free.

 

Allora Fete

HELP raise money for the Allora State School when it holds its fete tomorrow.

As well as a range of stalls and products on sale - including home made cakes and biscuits and barbecue snacks - there will be an egg and spoon race, gum-boot throwing competition and hobby horse races. There will also be a jumping castle for the young ones.

When: Tomorrow, 9am-2pm.

Where: Allora Showgrounds.

Cost: Free entry.

 

Harvey Norman birthday bash

HELP fundraise for the Warwick Animal Welfare association when Harvey Norman puts on two days of birthday celebrations.

As well as a barbecue and drinks, there will be a jumping castle, entertainment and raffle tickets.

All money raised will go straight to the Warwick Animal Welfare Association.

When: Tomorrow and Sunday, 9am-2pm.

Where: In front of Harvey Norman, Palmerin St.

Cost: Sausage sizzle and soft drinks $2 each. Entry free.

 

St Mary's dog baths

SUPPORT St Mary's Primary School when the Warwick Vet Clinic hosts a dog hydrobath tomorrow.

Each dog will be bathed and washed for just $10 and bookings are encouraged. The school's Parents and Friends committee will also run a barbecue, drinks and raffle.

For every dollar raised, Dr Chris Reardon will match it to donate to St Mary's School.

When: Tomorrow, 8.30am to noon.

Where: Warwick Vet Clinic, Albert St.

Cost: $10 each dog.

 

Barefoot bowls

THE Warwick East Bowls Club is organising barefoot bowls on Sunday and is aiming to attract new members who won't need their own bowls for this promotion. The event may become monthly, depending on numbers, more information from Ken Whitton on 4661 9721.

 

When:Sunday from 1pm.

Where:Warwick East Bowls Club.

Cost: $10 per head with a sausage sizzle after the game.

 

Sign-on for Little Athletics

THE Warwick Little Athletics season starts for the season with a sign-on/come-and-try day at Hamilton Oval tomorrow.

Centre days will be Saturdays from 8.30am to 10.30am with children, aged three to 16 years, welcome.

Drags return

AFTER the winter recess, the Warwick Dragway will light up for a Bracket Attack and Six Banger Nationals this weekend.

The nationals are open to anything with six cylinders.

St Mary's Cent Sale
