EVER wanted to learn how to skate?

Roll on down to the Warwick skate bowl tomorrow and join Australia's first regional skate club.

A $20 registration fee will have you skating with pros every second weekend.

Club organiser and accredited skate coach Michael Pugliese welcomes everyone young or young at heart who has ever wanted to skate to come down to the sign-on day.

Rotary will be on hand during the sign on day to quench a thirst and provide food.

When: Tomorrow, 11am-1pm

Tee off for charity

ANYONE who has ever wanted an excuse to hit the golf course can do so this weekend at the Bush Children's Charity golf day.

Great prizes will be on offer and teams are encouraged to come dressed in theme.

Dance night

SHINE your best dancing shoes and pull them on for a great night of ballroom dancing at Swan Creek tomorrow night.

The Janelle and Perry Lewis band is set to play and will keep dancers on their toes all night.

A raffle will also be held and a good supper will be provided.

Drags to fire up

THE VW Nationals will kick off at Warwick Dragway tomorrow and are sure to deliver fast-paced action.

Locals will be able to get up close and personal with the vehicles with a street parade through the Warwick CBD and a static display in Leslie Park from 9.30am until noon.

When: From noon tomorrow and 9am Sunday.

Where: Warwick Dragway

Cost: $10 per day

 

Support our models

LOCAL beauties will hit the catwalk today and tomorrow to try to fulfil their dreams in the Miss Country Girl Australia model contest.

About 60 young women will compete in the event, with models travelling from places such as the Gold Coast to take part.

The winner of the Warwick finals will then go on to compete in Sydney.

Heats will be held today and tomorrow, with the finals to be held at 1pm tomorrow

When: Today and tomorrow from 11.30am.

Where: Rose City Shoppingworld, outside Bi-Lo

Cost: Free for spectators

 

Tour Glengallan

Wet a line at Leslie

TAKE the family, a group of friends or enjoy a solo spot of fishing at Leslie Dam this weekend.

Pitch a tent and camp overnight or enjoy a day trip to the local waterhole.

Fishing permits are required and camping fees may apply.

Where: Leslie Dam, 15km west of Warwick

Cost: $36.05 for a yearly fishing permit.

 

Stroll along the river

STRAP on your runners and enjoy anything from a leisurely stroll to an intense run around the Queen's Park Riverwalk.

Admire the beauty of the Condamine River and choose from a number of different paths.

Explore Pringle Cottage

Explore some of Warwick's oldest artefacts and discover pieces of local history at the Warwick Historical Society Museum.

When: Saturday, noon to 3pm.
