150m-long wide-load an eye-opener

OPEN mouths and bug eyes: a 150m-long wide-load which passed though Warwick yesterday afternoon certainly had the gawk factor.

A Warwick Police spokesman said the transformer was accompanied by three police escorts and four pilot vehicles as it slowly made its way though the Southern Downs about 3.30pm.

“It took one day to travel from Goondiwindi to Warwick and will take four days from Goondiwindi to Brisbane,” the spokesman said.
