37 days in custody deemed enough for Warwick man

A WARWICK man was given a six month jail sentence suspended for two years after pleading guilty to multiple charges at Stanthorpe Magistrates Court.

Shane David Matheson-Bell, 32, pleaded guilty to various drugs, traffic, stealing and public nuisance offences on February 14.

An assault occasioning bodily harm charge laid on the man after he was accused of attacking his partner outside Warwick RSL Memorial Club with a dog chain in January was dropped after police offered no evidence.

Other offences related to various incidents that dated as far back as 2017.

Matheson-Bell's licence was also suspended for three months each for two separate traffic offences.

He had served 37 days in police custody prior to his sentence.
