$70 millon prize has Lotto lovers lining up at newsagents

THERE won't be many Toowoomba residents who don't have a ticket in tonight's $70million Powerball jackpot.

News Express The Range employee Narelle Boyes said customers had been streaming in since the jackpot had been announced.

"Without a doubt the bigger jackpots bring in more people," she said.

"$70 million sucks people in straight away even if they have never bought a Lotto ticket before.

"I think a majority of people will have an entry because no one wants to miss out."

She said she expected to be flat out selling tickets today.

"There has been a constant stream of people coming in and (today) will be non-stop," she said.

"We will probably even stay open a bit later because it will just be so busy.

"This store was bought in June last year and we haven't sold one of the big winning tickets yet but that doesn't mean we won't.

"I think we might be the newsagent that sells the winning ticket this time.

"If we do, we would have a party just because it was one of our customers who won."

Toowoomba man Phillip Grunge buys a Lotto ticket every week.

He said if he won the $70 million he would pay off his house, his son's house and travel the world.

"I would have bought more than 100 Lotto tickets in my time," he said.

"I figure I have to get lucky some time.

"It would be mind blowing to win the Powerball any week but $70 million is something else.

"I wouldn't even know how you could spend that much money in one lifetime."
