A POLICE helicopter has been brought in to search for a 71-year-old woman who was reported missing from Bongaree at Bribie Island on Sunday.

Marion Wallace was sighted walking up Sunderland  Drive heading towards the Banskia Beach and Pacific Harbour area.

Sergeant Ryan Hanlon of Bribe Island Police said, "We are seeking public assistance to help locate Ms Wallace."

"We'd also like to ask any motorists with in-car cameras who were driving along Sunderland Drive between 3-5pm yesterday to check the footage as it may have inadvertently captured images of Ms Wallace."

Marion Wallace is described as Caucasian, small build, 165cm tall with grey hair and wearing a green  cardigan, light blue jeans, black shoes and possibly with a hand bag.

Police have now issued a cctv image  of Ms Wallace in the outfit she was last seen.

"Emergency Service crews and the police helicopter PolAir 2 are currently searching scrub and bush land.

"We're asking local residents in the area of Banksia Beach and Pacific Harbour to just check their backyards.

"Ms Wallace left Bongaree in a confused state and may not know where she is." Sergeant Hanlon said.

Anyone that may have seen Ms Wallace is asked to contact Crime Stoppers or Policelink.

Anyone with information which could assist with this matter should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day.
