92 acceptances for Saturday races in Warwick

RACING: There are 92 acceptances for Saturday's Killarney Cup six-race meeting which will be held at Allman Park, in Warwick.

The Killarney Cup has attracted 12 starters and two emergencies.

Two of the horses entered are trained on the Southern Downs.

Kira's Beat, which will race at number 9, and has been nominated by Warwick trainer Mick Hemmings.

The mare has a second and third in her past eight starts and is first up from a spell this Saturday.

Positive Spin is trained by Garry Schwenke in Warwick and is the second emergency but may still get a start.

This weekend's meeting is the last of the racing year.

The first two meetings in the new racing year will be held on August 20 and October 12.

The Daily News has spoken to Eastern Downs racing official Jim Costello who has provided some tips for the meeting.

He insists he takes no responsibility for punters' outcomes.

Costello's Tips

Race 1, Killarney Co-Op Maiden Plate: The tip is Barcarole returning from a spell. Good first up and trained by Bradley Hudson in Oakey.

Hudson also has Spezia Lady in the race and she is a strong chance of a place along with Jacko's A Natural trained by Shane Green and formerly trained by Jack Brown in Warwick. Jacko's A Natural is back from a spell and is good first up.

Race 2, Angus Wickham Memorial Maiden Plate: Manhattanite is trained at Deagon in Brisbane and a likely winner from Exceedingly Brave which will be ridden by Hannah Phillips from Nanango.

Mask Stepenny is trained by Patrick Sexton in Oakey and is the tip for third.

Race 3, TopX Warwick/Smith's Farms, The Falls, Killarney, Class B Handicap: Geng to win after winning last start at Goondiwindi and in similar company here.

Tony's Decree, trained by Patrick Sexton from Oakey for second and Toowoomba horse Smokin' Hussay to run third.

Race 4, Killarney Cup BenchMark 60 Handicap: My tip Show Em' is well bred and by a New Zealand staying horse so won't have trouble with the 1500m distance.

I'm Favulous for second trained by Ross Coveney. The Graham Banks trained Rebel Saga is a strong chance of third.

Race 5, Killarney's Top Shop/Funeral Transfer Services QTIS BenchMark 55 Handicap: Man Overboard is trained by Gary Moroney in Toowoomba and runs well in Warwick and is the tip for the win.

Dulcie Tie won last start at Nanango and is tipped for second.

Glenbawns Dutchess is trained by Darryl Knight in Warwick and is the tip for third after a last start third at Goondiwindi. Second two starts back in Warwick.

Race 6, Thank You Ross McIntosh for Years of Dedicated Service QTIS BenchMark: Heart of Kings is trained by Tony Sears in Toowoomba and gets an allowance of 3kg through apprentice jockey Brooke Mackie and should win.

Oakey horse Court Rules is consistent and the tip for second.

The one for third is Colpo Di Tamburo, trained by Leo Roche at Massie. Might even start favourite.
