Eleven cars impounded on day 7 of road safety campaign

ELEVEN vehicles were impounded in the southern district, which includes the Darling Downs and Ipswich, on day seven of Queensland Police's road safety campaign.

A 4WD ute was clocked doing 105kmh through roadworks in a 60kmh zone on the Warrego Hwy at Boonarga, near Chinchilla.

A sedan driver was caught travelling at 168kmh through a 100kmh zone on the Daguilar Hwy at Moore, 56km west of Woodford.

There were 26 drink drivers caught statewide, with one at Rothwell in the Moreton Bay region found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.182%.

The Christmas campaign started on December 23 and will finish on January 3. - APN NEWSDESK
