Endeavour Rally begins the long trip to Bundy this morning
IT'S 3500km to Bundaberg, they have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and they're wearing sunglasses.
That's right; Brisbane's own Blues Brothers are just some of the quirky characters that will hit the track on the Endeavour Rally this morning.
"You have to be in a suit to drive, that's a condition of entry," Blues Brothers team member Michoef Maclurcan said.
Equipped with fedoras, dark sunnies and a car covered in witty stickers the trio feel they have their first time on the trail covered.
"It has been a long term plan to be in the endeavour rally, and now we are putting the band back together," Michoef said.
Unfortunately for the Brothers their costumes outdid their fundraising.
"They laughed at us when we registered," Michoef joked.
While Brisbane went with the blues, Nambour couple Gavin and Carol Johnson went scary.
Inspired by the dark style of Morticia and Gomez Addams, the Johnsons decided to bring the whole family along for the ride... Cousin It and Uncle Fester that is.
"I was flicking through my phone at the pub looking for ideas and then we came up with this," Carol said.
The pair said they were hooked after joining the rally on a day trip. "The kids are old enough for us to just go for a couple of days, no room for Wednesday," Gavin laughed.
