Fun fashion show at The Gatehouse
IF you are at The Gatehouse @ Rupert’s Bar and Grill tomorrow night you could be forgiven for thinking you had stepped into a fashion show in Melbourne or Sydney.
For there will be wine, media, models, a runway and, most importantly, some fantastic designer clothing.
One of Queensland’s fastest-rising fashion designers, Melina Hollway, will be in the Rose City showing off the newest line from her Damsel in this Dress brand.
Up-and-coming fashion photographer and Warwickite Tia Harre shoots for Hollway and has helped to organise the big launch.
She said the event would give Warwick women the opportunity to see and purchase some top-line clothing.
“It is a fashion show to show Warwick women the sort of work Melina does,” she said.
“We will also hold a live auction afterwards with some of the pieces selling from $5.”
For Harre, it will be an opportunity to refine a craft that she is passionate about – photography.
She already shoots at fashion shows in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sydney and is studying a Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Visual Arts through the University of Southern Queensland.
Harre said there would be a fashion parade tomorrow night, with wine and nibbles before the live auction.
She said she was introduced to Hollway by a mutual friend.
“Melina has been always sewing and has really started to take off in the last couple of years,” Harre said.
“I met her just through a model friend whom I photographed and we have gone from there.
“Her pieces are what I guess you would call vintage pieces ... vintage is really starting to come back.”
The evening will kick off from 6.30pm. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased from JC’s Inspirational Hair. Inquiries to Harre on 4661 9715.
