Grandfather Clock Campdraft winner in Warwick for another go
FORMER Killarney resident Jon Templeton won the Grandfather Clock Campdraft at Chinchilla at the weekend on Marnies Ace.
Templeton lives at Kingaroy after living at Beenbah, just outside Killarney, with his parents Ted and Sue, as a young boy. His father managed the property.
Templeton will be in Warwick this week for seven days of campdrafting rated the best in Australia.
At Chinchilla, Templeton won with a score of 274 to win by one point from runners-up Terry Hall on Hazelwood Conman, Paul Pawnall on Decoma Blue Acres and Craig Radke riding Contract.
Ken Boulton riding Candice, Pete Comiskey on Roanys Chex, Steve Comiskey riding Gigalo and Peter O'Neill with Claudette were equal fifth.
The ladies Chinchilla Grandmother Clock was won by Chinchilla campdrafter Jackie Knudsen on Barrister.
Last year's Warwick Gold Cup winners, Ben Tapp and Cool Dust, won the restricted open at Chinchilla to prove their form. Kimberley Sammon, of Beaudesert, won the novice on Seligmans Blondie.
