Junior Citizen Award - Elizabeth Dennis
ELIZABETH Dennis has a high level of commitment and leadership in the community through the 2013 Young Delegate Program, including participation in a national Youth Reference Group on education, Partnerships in Focus Forum, Southern Downs and Goondiwindi Youth Panel, consultation for the Queensland Plan, Regional Council Youth Action Plan, National Youth Week, Peace Festival, Jumpers and Jazz Festival, Disability Action Week, and local youth activities and events across the wider region.
Elizabeth's commitment is outstanding and she has a very busy life of her own.
Elizabeth is a young carer and a volunteer for Carer's Queensland.
She has been involved in the Carer's Queensland Young Carer's Program for many years.
Over the last 12 months she has taken on more of a leadership role, assisting with activities and events and providing pastoral care to other young carers.
She shows great compassion and has formed strong bonds in the local carer community.
Elizabeth's SDRC Young Ambassador Project in 2013 was a fun night at WIRAC promoting social inclusion for all young people and raising awareness for young carers and young people with disabilities.
Elizabeth is diligent, reliable and an extremely caring person.
She has shown a high level of commitment to young people, young carers and the SDRC community.
