Match review panel brings hammer down on Hartlett

PORT Adelaide could be without gun midfielder Hamish Hartlett for the final two regular season matches after the AFL match review panel came down hard yesterday.

Hartlett can accept a two-week ban for a high bump that left the Gold Coast's Seb Tape concussed - he had to be subbed out of the game in the second quarter.

The panel graded the incident as negligent, high impact and high contact. Hartlett risks missing the first week of the finals - provided Port keeps its position in the top eight - if he unsuccessfully contests the charge.

Other players cited were Brisbane veteran Simon Black and West Coast pair Dean Cox and Scott Selwood.

Cox and Selwood can accept reprimands for early guilty pleas, while Black would miss Sunday's final home game of the season against the Bulldogs with an early guilty plea after being charged with striking Giants captain Callan Ward last Saturday night.

A one-week ban would see the 34-year-old Lions champion be available for the team's final game of 2013 against Geelong at Simonds Stadium, a match that could bring down the curtain on his illustrious career.
