Resident celebrates 70th birthday

THERE aren't many Rose City men still as spritely as Andy Wilson at 70 years old.

A man who dedicates himself to the community, Mr Wilson is still going strong after 70 years.

“I feel no different than I did when I turned 21,” Mr Wilson said with a smile.

Mr Wilson turned 70 on September 21 but the party to mark the milestone was scheduled so he could get all his close friends and family members from around the state in one room.

Out of his fourteen siblings, Mr Wilson had three brothers and two sisters among his 83 guests at the Warwick RSL King's Theatre.

Friends also travelled to celebrate with Mr Wilson, where they could reflect on past footy matches and parties involving plenty of ale.

“It's always great to see everyone, it's not just a party it's a reunion,” Mr Wilson said.

His advice to all those younger than himself was to party hard when you are young and settle down after turning 50.
