Rural firies on scene of bush fire at The Falls/Spring Creek

11.30am UPDATE: A bush fire is  being monitored by volunteers from two rural fire brigades at The Falls/Spring Creek, not far from the Spring Creek Mountain Café.

The fire is still burning in inaccessible country but there are no concerns at this stage.

9.30am: A FIRE in The Falls/Spring Creek area east of Killarney has flared up again in rugged country.

A spokeswoman for the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service said yesterday afternoon the fire was within 400 metres of cottages at Spring Creek Mountain Cafe and a little bit further from the cafe.

"It has flared up again this morning but is in rugged country," she said.

There was no property damage on Saturday from the fire but grass and some timber was burnt.

The Killarney Rural Fire Brigade has one unit on scene this morning and a second unit from the Swan and Emu Creek Rural Fire Brigade is on the way.
