Siblings supreme as line winners at Rose Squash Club

TWO sets of siblings were line winners as the Warwick Rose Squash Club completed a successful year.

Minor premiers Asics defeated second-placed Reebok in a close match, four rubbers to three, in the grand final on Friday night.

On Saturday night, the club held its annual presentation dinner and trophies were presented to line winners for the second season this year.

Queensland player Caleb Johnson and his brother Sebastian were each line winners: Caleb on line 1, the highest; Sebastian on line 5.

The Erskine siblings from Goomburra were also among the winners.

Jordan was best on line 4 on top of his victory in the grand final.

Eliza Erskine and Nathan Tester were joint winners on line 7.

Squash official Len Don said many players were in their first finals.

"Almost half the players in the final were juniors which is good for the future," he said.

In the grand final, Shaun Kelly started Reebok off well with a 3-0 victory against Eliza Erskine.

The lead was lost when Geoff Hardacre beat Flynn Donaldson.

Asics won the next three rubbers 3-0 to secure a winning 4-1 lead.

Sebastian Johnson, Jordan Erskine and Mitch Gillott all won 3-0.

Michael Hunter and Neville Erskine won the final two rubbers to make the final tally 4-3.
