State Super Sprint Championships to hit Morgan Park Sunday
THE Queensland Super Sprint State Championships will be held at Morgan Park Raceway tomorrow and Sunday.
Practice will be this afternoon with competition starting at 8.30am tomorrow.
There are 107 nominations for the weekend from as far away as Grafton, Sunshine Coast, Goondiwindi and most centres in south east Queensland.
The 12 nominations from the Warwick area will be headed by Matt Campbell in historic racing cars.
Campbell will drive an historic formula two, owned by Frank Marshall, of Brisbane.
He won the state title two years ago in the same car.
The state championships combine the A and B series drivers, who have each competed in four rounds of the championships at Morgan Park this year, as well as drivers who did not nominate for the super sprints.
The event is being organised by the Warwick District Sporting Car Club, which will have 20 volunteers organising the meeting.
Half of the drivers will be in Warwick today for afternoon practice.
