THE Warwick Wolves will take on Rockville at Toowoomba in premier men’s and ladies’ football tomorrow.
Warwick District Football Association president Jon Pearson said the premier men would be without key goal scorer Ricky Sinkins, who is suspended for the next two weeks because of an accumulation of yellow cards.
However he said the men would welcome back Cameron Davey to fill that goal-scoring role. Pearson expects captain Robbie Davey to step up as well.
After their first season in premiers last year the men are currently sitting in sixth position, after dropping from third thanks to last week’s 4-nil loss to Gatton at home.
Pearson, who is the coach of the ladies, said he was hopeful they would have a good team tomorrow to take on a first-placed Rockville.
He said the ladies have had trouble with continuity of player numbers this season, and have only had 11 for one of their games.
Nonetheless they are still sitting in third position.
“We have had a bit of an indifferent year,” he said.
“We’re still going alright. We’ve beaten teams this season with eight. We’ll give it a good shake, especially if we can get a full side.”
Colts have the bye.
