Cookies, scones a hot cuppa and a little bit of charity

IF YOU love cookies, scones, a hot cuppa and being a little charitable, May certainly is the month for you.

A Biggest Morning Tea will be held at two of the Rose City's favourite local institutions - the Warwick Daily News and the QCWA tea rooms in conjunction with the Cancer Council of Queensland, a week after the other.

The Daily News Biggest Morning Tea will also mark the official beginning of the Daily News' 150th anniversary celebrations.

Just a week later the ladies of the QCWA Condamine Valley-Warwick branch have invited all to attend their morning tea, which features their famous scones and sandwiches.

"Warwick has always been a wonderful support, we have businesses order sandwiches from us on the day," branch secretary Penny Campbell-Wilson said.

The Biggest Morning Tea also coincides with their annual International Day, where Warwick East State School students will display artworks about Vietnam.

The Daily News Biggest Morning Tea will be held at the newspaper office on Albion St on Thursday from 9.30-10.30am.

The QCWA Condamine Valley Warwick branch Biggest Morning Tea will be held at the Grafton St tea rooms Friday, May 30, 10am-noon.

Entry for both events is by gold coin donation.
