A handy giveaway is about to sprout in your Daily News

PARSLEY, sage, rosemary and…coriander?

Southern Downs foodies have had their say on the must-have herb in their kitchen on Facebook.

Typically Italian herbs such as parsley and basil were among the firm favourites, but readers showed how their tastes have branched out.

Coriander, commonly used in South-East Asian cuisine, was among the most mentioned must-have herb.

"Coriander is a cracker," Edward Thomas said.

Matthew Dolley had trouble making up his mind.

"Thyme, oregano, rosemary, parsley, sage, chives...Too many to just name one," he said.

Readers can have their cooking - and gardens - expanded further with the Daily News' seeds giveaway, starting this Saturday.

From this Saturday, the Warwick Daily News will be giving away a seed pack each day to get your garden growing green for spring.

There will be 12 different varieties in all over the next two weeks - a week of delicious herb seeds and a week of beautiful flower seeds.
