A little late, but Patty’s joined the show girls
WITH the timing of Cinderella herself, Warwick Show Girl entrant Patty Delandre has entered the race for the crown with only a day to spare.
Self-described "country girl" Ms Delandre is looking forward to dusting off the old formal dress for tonight's Warwick Credit Union Autumn Show Ball.
The sixth of seven children in the tight-knit Delandre clan only told her father about her entry yesterday morning on her way to work.
"Mum is really excited for some reason - she just wants her own little princess," Ms Delandre laughed.
Ms Delandre, who works for the credit union, said she was aiming to one day join the army to study physio or massage.
"I would like to do something with my hands," she said.
A Warwick girl born and bred, Ms Delandre has been to multiple shows and rodeos to watch her brother compete.
"A show girl should have a good personality," she said.
There are now four girls entered in the competition and her prediction is for either show girl or runner-up.
"It's a 50-50 chance."
The results will be published in the Warwick Daily News on Monday.
