Teen charged with stabbing older brother

A MILLMERRAN teenager has been charged for stabbing his older brother during an early morning fight.

Millmerran police officer-in-charge Sergeant Steve Ryan said the 21-year-old victim suffered non-life threatening stabs wounds to his abdomen and under his arm in the incident.

Emergency services were called to a Lola Ave home in Millmerran shortly after midnight on Monday.

Sgt Ryan said there had been a fight between the two, which culminated in the 19-year-old man grabbing a kitchen knife and stabbing his older brother.

He said the stabbing occurred on the footpath in front of the home.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics treated the victim at the scene before he was taken to Millmerran and then on to Toowoomba Hospital.

He has since been discharged from hospital.

His brother was charged with unlawful wounding and is due to appear in Millmerran Magistrates Court on September 26.
