App is personal assistant to busy business managers

A NEW personal assistant app is about to make life easier for busy business people in the Rose City.

The assistant app, developed by Toowoomba-based company Sales VA, is being trialled by Black Toyota's Business Development Manager Brendan Goleby.

For Mr Goleby, the app means he has his very own personal assistant in his pocket.

"For $5 a day I have a virtual assistant who can send emails, book appointments and update customer relationship management date," he said. "The app helps make me more productive in my role."

The woman behind the app, Sales VA CEO Emma Munro, was in the Rose City yesterday to see it in action.

"The assistant app has been developed to help BDMs around the globe," she said.

"In the past 12 months we've gained 3500 clients globally - Black Toyota are the first client for the region.

"Having an assistant as an app is the next wave of technology."

As part of her online blog, a Day in the Life of a Salesperson, Miss Munro is aiming to show the world the important work done by BDMs.

Inspired by the Humans of New York Facebook page, the CEO has made it her mission to learn how the managers across the world work.

After tailing Mr Goleby for a day, the blogger said she was amazed by the variation of work he does.

"I just love that it's so much more community based," she said.

"A lot of people work alongside BDMs but don't actually know what they do."
