A night for all the mature-age singles in the region
THERE'S no age limit on finding love, and proclaimed Warwick matchmaker, Tracey Lee wants to help.
Moving to Warwick one year ago, Ms Lee volunteers her time painting nails at aged care facilities.
Talking with her clients and friends she's met around town, one thing was certain, Warwick is in no short supply of singles.
"I've met so many single people here in town; most elderly people who live here, their children have moved away, and there's a lot who are genuinely on their own,” Ms Lee said.
"People look at their future at being alone for the rest of their lives and it's a sad thought.”
The biggest question Ms Lee gets asked is, "where do you meet people?”
"There's a lot more life in people in their 60s and 70s than we think,” Ms Lee said.
"They want to go out and meet people, it's not just about the romance but also for a social connection.”
Wanting to bring people together, Ms Lee will host an over-55s singles night called Take A Seat.
Single guests will be seated at a formal private function space for dinner and games.
"The ladies have an opportunity to get dressed up and meet new people,” Ms Lee said.
"We'll serve delicious food, they can enjoy a dance and I'll be there to help start the conversation.
"Hopefully this will help bring people closer together and form new relationships.”
The night will cater for specific dietary requirements and Ms Lee said there was transportation available for the guests if needed.
The dinner will be held on August 18 from 7.30pm and tickets are $55 a head. Anyone interested in meeting new people over the age of 55 can contact Ms Lee on 0400428622
